Vision, Mission and Objectives
Vision: Demonstrate national leadership in the development of global citizens, leaders, and entrepreneurs who will flourish in the new energy economy.
Mission: The Mission of the Center for Sustainability is to engage Penn State students through innovative research, education, and outreach activities that advance the ethic and science of sustainability.
To pursue this Vision and Mission, the CfS will pursue the following specific teaching, research, and outreach objectives:
Teaching Objective: Develop global citizens, leaders, and entrepreneurs who are informed about environmental issues and conscious of the environmental impact of their decisions.
Research Objective: Conduct research to bridge the gap between the technologies that facilitate sustainability and the skills and awareness that will put these technologies into action.
Outreach Objective: Reach beyond Penn State 's campus to cultivate values, attitudes, and actions that are both respectful of our environment, and savvy about the economic, social, and environmental goals of sustainability.
